Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. After gaining viral fame via the Internet the track My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually was included on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also included viral hits such as the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown the city of New York Bitche$. The latter track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. With musician and author as her credentials, she set her sights on acting in a third project. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her EP "In Fina We Trust".
