Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that is now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her for being in the "child prodigy" category. This was a very natural characteristic for a girl of Irish origin, and who was surrounded in the beginning by gifted family members as well as parents. Maureen joined this wonderful refuge located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons is the second daughter from Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons The rest of the family rounded out this wonderful family. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as a kid and was very proficient at it. Her natural ability to perform was the perfect match for her interest in sport. The fact that she was awarded nearly all Feis prizes for her own country's theater and drama proved the fact that she was a natural performer. In the age of 14, she had been admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue the art of opera and classical theatre.
